Surprisingly fun and engaging read.
Possibly because I rarely read romance novels, and have been avoiding covid references, I found this novel fresh and interesting.

Oh, this novel annoyed me. The characters were shallow and stereotypical and Madison frustrated me with the way she wanted to stay popular. She was happy to use Dwight and his friends when it suited her but ditched them as soon as one of the 'popular' people arrived on the scene. I found the plot boring and predictable, the reader knew who Madison would end up with from the start. A meh read.

You know, I usually love YA books and can put up with some of the problematic parts but... this one was a big NOPE for me. I had to DNF it after just about 100 pages. I went and read some summaries and other reviews to see if it was just me and... yeah. This one was a bit too much for me. Really just too much and too problematic. Abusive relationships, some sexual scenes with underage kiddos... I felt too darn weird reading this. Ick. Yuck. Eek.
One out of five stars.
