This book is for higher readers and has a lot of bigger vocabulary words though it gives great information along with great illustrations to help students understand the life of a salmon. I would use this book in my class because this is a local animal that is very popular as well as it connects to culture. To Native Americans the salmon is a huge part of their culture which I feel this book can tie to learning about native Americans and some of their traditions and beliefs as well as in the science of the life cycle of a salmon.… (plus d'informations)
This story focused on the habitat of the samon throughout heir life cycle. It builds up on the writing and repeats itself so the information is read multiple times. The pictures are realistic drawings.
This is an informational book through the use of poetic descriptions of the life cycle of salmon. The pictures are eye-catching and lifelike, and it will be a valuable supplemental informational text for our salmon unit. This book follows salmon from their forma s eggs in a stream all the way to the ocean, eventually making their hazardous journey back to their home stream.
Cumulative verse about the life cycle of a tree in a forest. Reading it aloud is a bit of a slog for the reader, since some of the repeated lines are more informative than fun-to-read.
