I purchased this book because it contains information about my great, great, great grandfather Aron Wall (1833-1905). I was hoping to find a scrap of information about his wife Aganetha because she is a genealogical dead end. I didn't find out any info about Aganetha, but I did learn quite a bit more about Aron Wall.

This book was also helpful in understanding my grandparents who were raised in these churches and how that cultlike environment affected them and influenced their childrearing practices which ended up affecting me.

The book was written by my second cousin, twice removed.

"Recent years have seen a shift in the belief that a religious world-view,
specifically and Christian one, precludes a commitment to environmentalism.
Whether as 'stewards of god's creation' or champions of 'environmental
justice,' church members have increasingly found that a strong pro-ecology
stand on environmental issues is an integral component of their faith. But not
all Christian denominations are latecomers to the issue of environmentalism. In
this book, the first on this subject supported and produced by the Mennonite
church, Calvin Redekop and his coauthors explain the unique environmental
position of the Anabaptists." --back cover
