117/2020. This is a 500 page book of poems supposedly translated from Kazakh to English, some of which appear to have been translated by software rather than an actual English speaker. Oddly the volume claims a native anglophone "editor", and I use that term loosely, in addition to a translator. I dipped in and out of this before a decisive DNF but I flicked through and read over 13% before surrendering. Needless to say that I blame the English "editor" and the publisher not the Kazakh author, because I haven't read the original work in Kazakh, however it's unusual that a 500 page second volume of any poet's work would be published in an English translation when neither the original work nor its author seem to have won any notable literary awards or received reviews in any notable literary publications (either in print or online).

Quote: "Like descending wind: / Singing a farewell tune."

From the pages I did read at least 10% appeared to have basic errors.
pg40 abandoned: "Shakespeare has not abandoning his stage"
pg99 sew: "When necessary, he will even sue on a small patch."
pg128 sewn: "And a peace of mind is sewed through a rainbow."
pg134 evils? : "Maybe that cloud of smog is guilty, / Since, there are more evil and less of laughter."
pg150 wonder: "I wander what keeps these slow stars,"
pg150 distressing: "This question is distressful."
pg177 Their: "They children breathe music:"

Note to self: avoid all Hertfordshire Press books.
