A very short introduction is followed by a lengthy catalog of porcelain tokens used in Chinese gambling houses in Thailand and Burma. While the introduction is not very helpful (and has extensive quotations in German and French), the porcelain tokens are an interesting part of Thailand's monetary history. Banned late in the 19th century, they were used in a wide variety of gambling houses and apparently as currency in their locales. Pictures of over three hundred different tokens are the best part of this book, and will act as a useful reference for those interested in Thai currency.… (plus d'informations)
