It tells the story of Ling Rinpoche, believed to be the reincarnation of the previous person with the same name. This religious belief makes the way for the new little boy to be renamed and carefully raised to be a Lama, which is a Buddhist religious leader. The book leads me to more questions about the beliefs but the book alone could teach the issues related to governments forming unnatural borders and the problems the people will face as a result, cultural tolerance, respect for others, social studies, etc...
