This is how you do an inspirational romance!

I sat down to read a few chapters of The Cowboy’s Secret Past and ended up finishing this novel in one sitting. There is something magical about the Lazy M Ranch, the Morgan family, grumpy Trevor, and trying-to-keep-it-all-together Hope.

Since I didn’t read the synapsis beforehand, I was pretty surprised when I read a twist in the first chapter that I truly did not see coming. I appreciated that the romance isn’t rushed and that the characters get to know one another and develop feelings organically instead of rushing straight to the love aspect.

All of the scenes with grandpa Gus stole my heart. There’s something about a spitfire old man that always endears me. Young Cole is a very close second with his old-soul wisdom, politeness, and innocence despite the hand that life has dealt him. These two were truly the rays of sunshine in this novel for me.

There are small surprises throughout this novel, warm and wonderful characters, and it is brimming with tremendous heart. It was a quick read that left my heart warm, and my soul nourished. It doesn’t get much better than that!

“It’s a choice. I choose to be happy.”

It’s always such a treat to start a new book by talented author Tina Radcliffe. She’s a pro at writing charming, engaging small-town stories that seep into your heart. The Cowboy’s Secret Past features rancher Trevor Morgan who has changed his life and worked hard to overcome his past. When Nurse Hope Burke shows up to care for Trevor’s grandfather, she brings along her nephew Cole who has just lost his mother. She has reason to believe that Trevor is Cole’s father.

I absolutely loved the way that Trevor treated Cole and had him help around the ranch, even though he felt he wasn’t Cole’s father. They developed such a wonderful relationship, and it showed Trevor’s commitment to living a better life. Hope was also endearing and sweet, and her sunny, optimistic attitude was a delight.

This is a delicious and well-crafted story of redemption, compassion, and hope. There is a lot of Radcliffe’s signature wit and humor involved, and I completely enjoyed reading it. 4.5 stars

MY THOUGHTS
The Cowgirl’s Sacrifice is a sweet and adorable second chance romance that gives the reader all different feelings.

I loved the way that Radcliffe made me fall in love with the characters, the setting, and she wove in several lessons while giving a sweet romance.

I didn’t realize that this was not the first book in the series until I pulled up the information for my review, however, I wasn’t lost in the story and I now look forward to reading the other books in the series. I really love that the author has main characters who are siblings.

*3.5 stars rounded to 4 stars.

I loved traveling back to the Lazy M Ranch in Homestead Pass, Oklahoma for another story featuring the Morgan family. Tina Radcliffe has penned another delightful tale—this time featuring Sam Morgan and Olivia Moretti, who had skipped out on Sam right before their wedding day a few years before. When Olivia returns and Sam’s grandfather rents out the building Sam owns to her to start a restaurant and housewares business, he’s not too happy and that’s putting it mildly. Since Sam was planning on using part of the building to start his own handcrafted woodworks business, he confronts Olivia and they strike a deal to sell their goods together and see whose products sell the best.

Radcliffe is a pro at creating engaging, realistic, and endearing characters and plopping them down in a small-town setting, then wrapping a delicious and charming story around them. If you enjoy clean and wholesome contemporary romance, I recommend this book and author. It can be read as a stand alone story, but there are some characters that carry on in the series, and it was fun seeing them pop up in this book. 4.5 stars
