This is by far my new favorite series. I love that Lois Meade cleans houses for a living. What better way to find out all the tidbits of gossip needed to solve an investigation than by being involved in people's day to day lives. It makes all her inquiries seem plausible, which is more than I can say for some cozy mysteries. I'm looking forward to catching up with Lois and her team of cleaners/detectives in more to follow.

What a fun book! I think this may be my new favorite series. I think the main reason I like this series is that the main character, Lois, is not a police officer nor is she a a wealthy woman. She is struggling to work, raise a family, and keep everything in order. I love that I can relate to her and her personal life.

The mystery in this one is good, but I do think you can figure out the killer a little too early for my liking. It doesn't take away from the overall story, though.

This was my second attempt at starting this series. I love Ann Purser's Lois Meade series, but I couldn't get into this book the first time around. The premise of the story is really great, but the beginning starts off VERY slow for me. Once I got more towards the middle of the book the pace picked up quite a bit and it was more enjoyable. I will definitely give the second in the series a try and hope that this was just a one-off for the author.

While I love this series, Secrets on Saturday wasn’t my favorite. The mystery revolves around badger baiting and missing elderly villagers. There were numerous animals that die in the book. While I’m not overly sensitive, I could see where this might be hard for those who are. Not my favorite but still a great read.
