Courte biographie
Sophie Raverat, daughter of the French artist Jacques Raverat (1885-1925) and his wife Gwen (née Darwin, 1885-1957, a granddaughter of Charles Darwin), married Mark Pryor (1915-1970) in 1940. She subsequently married Charles Gurney (1913-1997), professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Hong Kong (1966-1973), who had been Mark's boss at RAE Farnborough. After his retirement, they moved to Totnes, Devon. Sophie Gurney died in 2011, aged 91.
