Another revisionist approach to early Islamic history, which focuses on Muhammad's relationship with his adopted son Zayd, arguing that Zayd's life was rewritten to eliminate the possibility that he was the heir to Muhammad's prophethood. Of interest to me partly because this includes the episode of Muhammad marrying Zayd's ex-wife, which I have always regarded as an example of Muhammad announcing confirmation by Allah of a morally dubious act. But perhaps it was fictional.
