This book is my very first introduction to this author. They always say the best impressions are the first impressions. After reading this book, you can say that I am impressed. I will be looking for more books to read by this author.

Aubrey really helped solve the case. She picked up on clues that most of the others did not and kept a level head throughout the whole situation. Although, I must say that Special Agent Smolleck was no dummy. He kept cool under pressure as well. This could translate to being some what off-putting but once you got to know Agent Smolleck, you had respect for him. I really had no idea the motive behind the kidnapping until the backstory started unfolding. I was hooked every moment of the way. If you are a fan of a great mystery story then you should check this book out.… (plus d'informations)

2 1/2 stars. OK, but not great. The story was interesting, as were the characters, but I didn't really warm to any of them (even the main character). I found much of the story depressing, and didn't really find the humour that some others have noted. The business aspects in particular were not believable, and while I can often suspend disbelief enough not to let that bother me, here it did - maybe because the rest seemed depressingly real. I didn't really enjoy it much, but it was fairly well written and I could see others enjoying it more.… (plus d'informations)

I was hooked from the first chapter. A woman finds out she has a sister and that sister has been kidnapped. There are some nice plot twist that will keep you reading, and an ending that nicely ties everything together. Definitely recommend.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, but what I got was a thrilling tale that grabbed my attention from the beginning and never let go. I found this book very hard to put down. Potts weaves an interesting web of past and present doing a great job at peeling away the layers of the story and her characters. At first Kali seems to have the perfect life with a husband and baby on the way. That all changes when her grandmother is hurt and secrets threaten to come out. Kali's search for her family roots occurs just as a madman is looking for her grandmother. I liked how Potts made the grandmother seem cold at first but actually Kali's grandmother was trying her best to protect her. The book is full of a lot of twists and turns with a shocking ending. Overall Potts delivers a thrilling story that is chilling and heartfelt at the same time.… (plus d'informations)
