It begins with an egg (no ordinary egg) and an unsuspecting fellow. And then with a Crack — and a furtive peek in the fridge — this offbeat story is off and running! Before we know it, our hero is hiding under the bed. Next he is fleeing out the door and setting himself up in some safe new digs, until — swoosh — a strange invitation arrives.

This is a humorous book about a man that finds himself in a pickle when the egg he brings home turns out to be much more than he bargained for!

But the most interesting aspect of the book is the use of color. The book uses only five colors: black, white, gray, yellow and blue. I found the creative way the artist used these colors made the book very enjoyable to explore. In fact, it was this use of color on the cover that made me pick up the book in the first place. Eye-catching blue, yellow, and black digitally-created illustrations tell the story of a man and his bird who bring home an egg from the store. Unfortunately, when it cracks, it's not what they're expecting. The design of the book includes some fold-out pages which extend the idea of what a book can be. There's a lot of humor in the illustrations.
