A familiar trope of smartass antihero albeit well written. 3.5

The Wild Bunch meets Watership Down is a very apt description. I was a huge Redwall nerd growing up (both the cartoon and the novels) so this was a great way to start the new year!

Daniel Polansky is definitely one of my favourites now. I really enjoy his stand-alone fantasy novels immensely. Can't wait to continue reading his work.

It's about a bunch of really violent animals and it's absolutely awesome.
