Done Gone Wrong par Cathy Pickens
Based on cover photo and "Southern Fried Title" I expected a very light "foodie" cozy; (no cherry pie mentioned in the story...) but it is really a nice basic mystery, more of a Grisham-light story, with a serious trial going on, with a concerning medical malpractice background. Would like to have met the two dead characters before they died, as they appeared to have been worthy of more development and their loss more meaningful. The humor from the savvy cabdriver and the "mental" patients who save the day goes beyond typical "cozy" silliness. I liked the story !… (plus d'informations)
This misses the mark. Pickens is trying too hard, and has thrown in everything but the kitchen sink. Lots of loose ends. No reason at all for several events. I don't think I'll read any more of the series.
This is the second Avery Andrews mystery. Good, fast, entertaining read. I think she's trying to put too much into the book, though. I girued out the bad guy early on.
An okay cozy mystery about disgraced attorney Avery Andrews who comes back home and falls into town doings. Her office will be in an old mortuary. The series may prove interesting, but the plotting is a bit weak in thie first installment.
