When Mendel, the butcher in a very small town, rents out half his shop, he is accused by his new tenant of theft. The community rallies on Mendel's behalf and a woman shows that the accuser is the thief. This story shows up elsewhere, perhaps in a collection of Jewish folktales?

One of my favorite books to use during a storytime on individuality. Great mesasge, and the kids love doing all the animal sounds too.
