I've come across very few war stories written by women that actually delved into the dark and gritty reality of those wars. Pearson manages to do all that while still being able to give presence to the emotions that many male authors tend to leave out for the sake of reality and stoicism. This book horrified me, disturbed me, yet made me proud of the men (and women) I know and know of who served during such a harrowing time...many family members who refused to speak of it once they returned from active duty.… (plus d'informations)
