A frank and fearless exposure of the growing intolerance on the part of the religious majority in India, driven by a revivalist and ultra-nationalist agenda that labels any criticism as anti-national. While a certain extra weight to the majority's religious sentiments may be justified on cultural or civilizational grounds, this needs to be benign and uplifting: denial of basic rights and opportunities to non-dominants is not. The irony (which is lost on the proponents of the dominating ideology) is that any discrimination or intolerance will only go to proving the two-nation theory which is supposed to have forced the partition of the subcontinent.
