This is a very helpful book that describes what knowledge management is (and what it is not), as well as how to effectively create KM in a law firm.

The first chapter starts out shaky -- it almost convinces you that KM is just a new buzzword. There's also a long chapter that seemed to suggest forming a committee to pick a later committee that would decide KM specifics.

But then we hit the "meat" of the book. One chapter tells the story of one attorney at a firm that successfully practices KM: he arrives on his first day of work and receives six binders of materials that described the firm, his job, and other little hints and tricks. Doing something like this is fleshed out in other chapters.

This is what I would call an "evangelical" book -- after you read it, you'll be convinced that there are so many better ways to be doing things, and you'll want to try out some of the author's ideas.
