Taffy was a little orange cat who lived in an old abandoned house with two other cats, both black. When a little old lady - perhaps a witch! - came and took the two black cats away, but left Taffy behind, our feline heroine was terribly distraught, and set out to find a witch of her own. Fortunately for her, it was Halloween night, and there were plenty of witches around. Or were there...?

Published in 1975 and long out of print, Taffy Finds a Halloween Witch is a sweet little early reader, one that pairs a poignant but ultimately heartwarming tale from author Donna Lugg Pape with cute, cartoon-style artwork from illustrator Carol Nicklaus. I've never encountered either of these creators before, but I'm glad to have discovered them. Stories of homeless animals finding a home are right up my alley, and so too are witchy tales (even if the witchy element ends up being a little iffy). Pape appears to have been quite prolific, with over fifty books to her credit, so I hope I encounter more of her work. Recommended to beginning readers who enjoy stories about cats and/or Halloween.… (plus d'informations)

This book is a circular book, of a dog trying to sell his house.

I liked this book because it teaches kids the value of sticking to their own.

I think this book would be good for K-1.

This book is a good example of a circular book. It is about a dog who wants to sell his house to get a new one and keeps fixing it and adding to it so that someone would want to buy it but in the end he just ends up keeping it.

I liked this book because it teaches kids that just because they don't like something doesn't mean you have to get rid of it and get something new.

I think that this book would be good for kids K-2nd.

Doghouse for sale was a very cute book! It teaches children that fixing up an old thing is greater than buying a new thing. The dog in this story is wanting to sell his doghouse and goes through a lot of trouble. He fixes it all up and decides to keep the finished product. I think is a great book for children because they get to learn about effort and determination. The grade level for this book would be pre-k.
