historical romance à Name that Book (Juillet 2012)

Critiques

There is nothing remotely historical or realistic in this story and I thought at best, I would end up giving it 3 stars. In the end, I really liked it. It is difficult to get through in the beginning, with the heroine's 'hillbilly speak' and her being rather crude. The hero was kind of a jerk, too. The author did a good job of building the story and creating the happy ending for the characters. Entertaining read.

This was my first Rebecca Paisley book. I have to say I think this rating is misleading. I liked the book, but I would rate it about a 3.5. The beginning was good and the last 1/3 of the book was very satisfying but the rest of the book was not. I kept putting the book down to do other things because it did not hold my interest. The heroine's cute way of mixing up sayings started to bother me and her 'family' of crazy mixed up old-timers started to grate as well. It took way too long for the hero and heroine to connect physically. Once they did, the story became more interesting.
Good book, but not a 'keeper'.

This was a cute fast read. The hillbilly speak may have been a bit overdone, but it made for a unique heroine.

rabck box from bookstogive 04/10; with the exception of on trite part towards the end, this was a delightful romance. Saxon never intended to marry, but when his Grandmother forces his hand, he takes an Appalachian girl as his wife and brings her to snooty Boston. Chickadee believes in herself, and calls the shots without layering any manners on top. She's setting 1800's Boston on it's ear with her refreshing ways, and understands that all her husband, and his family, need is a good dose of love.… (plus d'informations)
