I enjoyed this one. It was short for the amount of story it had to tell so some actions and reactions were condensed from what would have been realistic but on the whole it was very readable. The writing style was clear and engaging and kept my interest straight through. This is another one which I picked based on reviews then searched out and purchased. So far about 2/3rds of my books for which I've done this have been winners so a decent average.

Very satisfying read. Plot made sense and the story was well written and flowed well. The hero was a decent man and you could see him falling for the heroine. Even though she had been backed into a corner (not by the hero) and so had to marry him, she was not whimpy at all. I like when the hero is indulgent towards the heroine. Another point I liked which might not matter to some people is that once she got to his mansion she was bored and needed something to do. Many times in HPs the woman is a rich man's wife and I always wonder why she isn't raving mad with boredom. Here the heroine was bored and set out to find something to do. The ending was nice and it was the hero who made all the concessions to make the marriage work out and that was nice to read for a change.

Very nice. I'll definitely try to read some other books by this author.

honestly this would’ve just been fine and a tropey little story but the constantly sexist and weirdly gendered asides were just way too much
