I was looking forward to reading this after coming across several positive reviews, but after getting to page 66 (out of a total of 216), I gave myself permission to stop. I spent time trying to figure out why I didn’t want to finish this book, which reflects on the words of Jesus “Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28.

It’s not the verse and certainly not who said it, but I just couldn’t stay focused on the pages. The writing was just too “academic” for me, with footnotes on almost every page. I wanted a writing style I could relate to without having to interpret and translate it. I’m not criticizing the theology or the author, but this book just wasn’t for me.… (plus d'informations)
