Originally published 25 years ago, this is a delightful story that makes wonderful use of color about a resourceful little girl determined to convince her duck friends to stay for the winter.

This book is great for children first learning to write poetry. It is a great example of ABCB poems. I would read this book to show children examples of poetry, before they had to write their very own.

This book was really cute! It is about a tree that was bare and was about to be cut down, but a little girl said it talked to her secretly. She took care of it and one day it started growing branches and leaves and apples. The more apples they ate, the more apples grew. Every summer they have a feast because there are so many apples! It was a really cute read and had cute pictures to go with it!

Rhymming sentances makes it easy to read. Teaches a lesson about sharing.
