- Kelly Oram wrote her first novel at age fifteen--a fan fiction about her favorite music group, The Backstreet Boys, for which her family and friends still tease her. She's obsessed with reading, talks way too much, and likes to eat frosting by the spoonful. She lives outside of Phoenix, Arizona with her husband, four children, and her cat, Mr. Darcy.
Jackie May is a pseudonym for husband and wife writing team Josh and Kelly.

Going forward, I think Kelly Oram will be my go-to author for YA books.
This book was so good. It had a lot of difficult issues but never got too bogged down. There was so much growth in certain characters, and I loved seeing it.

Classic Kelly work. Highly appealing characters, plenty of plot items and a happy ending. Alice is someone you root for from page one and her would-be band mates are great sidekicks. There's a magical feeling running through the story line that makes this a compulsive page-turner.

I recommend this book to anyone in middle school and older who loves an exciting and funny read. Fans of Kasie West's On the Fence will love it as well.
