Though I have been praying the Office for two or three years now, I still found this book to be a great resource. I would say that this book is a "must have" for those who have no background with The Divine Office, but want to see what it's about and how to go about praying the Office. It is very practical, going step-by-step for those who have either a four-volumn breviary (prayer book) or like me have the one volume breviary.
The appendicies provided are wonderful models of the various lessons Nugent provides and the Glossary is very helpful for those beginning to understand the terms and language of a prayer book.
Partiularly helpful are the occasional DODO SELF CHECK boxes which allow one to review key concepts and quiz yourself on what has been learned up to this point.

I loved this book... It tells of what St. Clare was like as a person, and what her ideals were in such a beautiful way... I loved seeing how she related to the other Poor Ladies that began with her, and their relationship with St. Francis. Very solid, true to history, but in an engaging, captivating style.

This book was somewhat helpful in learning the basics of praying the LOTH. The annoying dodo theme, poor page design, numerous grammatical and typographical errors and lack of an index keep me from giving it 5 stars. I look forward to a improved (renamed?) second edition.
