John Ford Noonan (1943–2018)

John Ford Noonan Jr. was born in Stamford, Connecticut on October 7, 1941. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Brown University and a master's degree in theater arts from the Carnegie Institute of Technology. Before becoming a playwright, he taught high school Latin. His plays included The afficher plus Year Boston Won the Pennant, A Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking, Some Men Need Help, and Talking Things Over with Chekhov. He also wrote occasionally for television including adapting Some Men Need Help for the PBS series American Playhouse. In 1984 he shared an Emmy Award with Tom Fontana and John Masius for outstanding writing in a drama series for an episode of St. Elsewhere called The Women. Noonan died from heart failure on December 16, 2018 at the age of 77. (Bowker Author Biography) afficher moins
