This book had such an interesting premise but it really lost steam after a pretty good beginning. Once the hero figured out that the heroine was no longer married it was pretty much just a series of how happy they are together, how hot the sex is and how much he can spend on her. I realize that's a fantasy but it doesn't make for very riveting reading. Especially since every time he spent money on her I kept expecting her to have more pride than to accept everything he handed her. But she didn't and I cringed a bit for her. Gold digger much?

Shut the front door. I got what I was wanting and so much more. Now, I know for certain that I need to get a hold of the original Splendor. I have to see the beginning of what made this story so hot that it had to have a prequel. Not one prequel but two with a third in the works. Janet Nissenson makes it plain in her disclaimers that this story is more of an expanded version of the original book. She felt these two had a much bigger story to share. I have to agree with her. This is certainly turning into a grand love affair.

Tess just completely blossoms within the pages. She comes to life in more ways than one and she makes the most of every opportunity she was given with Ian. Ian was perfect gentleman and the perfect alpha when the need arose when it came to Tess. The heat they shared was able to set the heat index up a few notches. With each tap of the screen for the new page I became more and more needy for what was coming next.

There was so much beauty within the pages of the second. It carried on with the direction of the first. Opening up new avenues for Tess and Ian. Watching the way that Tessa blooms just makes for a sweeter read. Ian cherishes this woman and makes it known to her that she was the one he wanted. There was rich depth and an intensity that made for a more central focus. There were heartwarming moments that make the bond deeper and more.… (plus d'informations)
