If you grew up in the 1970s and 80s then odds are good that you grew up knowing the Muscle car. Starsky & Hutch, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Knight Rider, all featured these gas guzzling beasts of the road.

This book covers their history and features all the names that you will instantly recognise: The Ford Torino, and the Mustang, Shelby Cobra, Plymouth Barracuda, and the Road Runner, Chevrolet Corvette, Camaro, Ford Mercury Cougar, Buick, Pontiac Firebird, and Trans Am, Dodge Charger, and Challenger... To name only a few!
The book is full colour and the cars are beutifully photographed. Also included are some of the major promotional concepts of the time.

Even though the pages are only a dozen over one hundred; the size of the book is impressive (at just over 12"x9"); so it makes a great coffee table book.
Along with the photographs there are some very nice airbrushed illustrations too.

In fact, with so many fine, full and double page photos, I went and purchaised this book as reference material for my own airbrush illustrations.
I will probably be looking to buy another copy at some point, to carefully take it apart and better view the two page photographs, since so many are trapped by the tight binding.

Through a grandmother's narration we learn the intricacies of a small, but relevant culture: their history, their traditions and cultural norms, and their present lifestyle.

I'd certainly recommend this book for educators looking to show the rich diversity present in our own backyard (Alaska, in this case), and to perhaps relay to their students the fundamental elements that define every culture. The Tlingit community is small, but they have a big story to tell.… (plus d'informations)
