Danielle “Danny” LaBouleaux is an expert psychic whose skills had led her into a short law enforcement career as a consultant for the FBI and a short stint with the NYPD. However, she is swept off her feet after meeting a wealthy plastic surgeon, Dr. Gerald Wolfe, at a charity event, and shortly thereafter, she accepts his proposal of marriage and follows him to Phoenix, while keeping her psychic skill secret from him because of his sceptic nature. However, the FBI isn’t through with Danny and sets her up with a long distance job as an editor and contributor to an online crime magazine, behind which she can secretly continue to consult with her psychic abilities on important cold cases. When an influential senator’s daughter’s body is found in a two-year-old grave, the FBI head of her division decides he needs to pair one of his special agents, Aiden Stone, who has his own emergent psychic abilities, with her to track down what appears to be a major serial killer who has murdered on a national scale. However, as Danny and Aiden banter in their emerging relationship during the investigation, neither would expect the danger of the case to arise so close to Danny in her new life. This paranormal mystery builds it storyline well without overplaying the psychic card. Readers will find a budding one-upmanship romance, building suspense and tense hyper thrills that would please fans of “Criminal Minds.” However, for me, the plot is very dependent upon a somewhat unrealistic coincidental foundation and a few doubtful character choices in order to heighten the plot thrills. Still, many readers may accept these elements in order to enjoy the maximum suspense ride that unfolds. I notice that a previous review makes note of an over-abundance of editorial errors with grammar and form; however, it appears that the current edition has been cleaned up since this review, even though quite a few errors are still evident throughout the book.… (plus d'informations)
