That Baby in the Manger par Anne E. Neuberger
It is just a few days before Christmas and the first-graders are gathered around the manger scene. Each child wants to identify with Jesus, but the realize the figure with blonde curls doesn't look like many of them. Mr. Gonzalez hears their questions about the color of Jesus' hair and eyes, and discovers a solution in the old stuff in his closet.
This is a good example of a biography. It is about someone who has had an influential role in history, be it well known or not. It gives the details of her life as far as growing up and her role in her mother's life and the importance of her education. It is an accurate description of her life.

Taken from the autobiographies of Induk Pahk, (a personal family friend of ours), the story targeted toward youth boils down "Grandma" Pahk's early years and her persistence in gaining an education. It portrays turn-of-the-century Korean life and culture with the kind of details that make the story real and poignant, and the trials and bravery of both mother and daughter toward self-improvement are truly inspiring. What is missing is Pahk's deep Christian faith, and the cover illustration shows a Westernized vision of Korea in that era.… (plus d'informations)
