We are commenting on an international chess tournament, it is all very exciting....and I figured I had to wheel out my Naka review, since he is in the tourney.

I have never laughed so heartily. This book is fun, full of tactics, excellent writing, and has ideas which are unique to bullet ( one minute ICC chess). Hikaru Nakamura, a strong GM, is addicted to the one-minute game and his advice about taking the initiative or attacking Tal-style is interesting. What is more curious is that the games, played at that blinding speed, contain more blunders than you are likely to see in a hundred other books combined, but it makes light fun of that, and you can almost play through the games without a board since diagrams are so abundant.
Not only is the writing superlative, but the organization of the material is brilliant. Chapters "Time, Choosing your openings, Winning in the opening, Bullet openings (1.h4), The Initiative, Tactics, Simplification, Bullet Endings, Common Mistakes, Mental Errors, Psych Outs, Falling Apart" among others are abundant with examples.
Players' internet ratings are provided with the game scores, amusingly annotated (who annotates blitz?), but their names are withheld to protect the names of the innocent.
I can read a dozen books by Karpov or I.Sokolov, but they won't help me improve my sight of board as much as this fun book which has 2000 rated blitz players dropping pieces or missing mate in one.
