- He holds the B.A. and M.A. from Indiana University and the Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi.
Professor of History at Harding University from 1964 to 1994 and chair of the History and Social Science Department from 1964 to 1993. Author of three books: (1) Sex and Marriage in Utopian Communities: 19th Century America, (2) Searcy, Arkansas: A Frontier Town Grows Up With America, and (3) Filling the Ancient Measure. Also, he was a minister and elder for churches of Christ.
