This was a “fluff” read thanks to COVID-19 but better than expected. A soldier with PTSD befriends the mother of a child who is the sole survivor of a classroom school shooting. The soldier is wrestling with whether to sell an inn he inherited on an east coast island and the mother has just opened a cafe on the island, hoping he sells the inn to a resort sure to lure in tourists to keep her cafe busy. Love ensues instead.

This is just a fun lightweight book. It took me a few hours to finish, and was just what I needed after some recent heavier choices. The characters are comfy, the story well-paced and overall just a fun read.

A wonderful telling of the Selkie legend. In the style of Nora Roberts, the author writes in something that is likely omniscient third person (lots of POV switches), but I didn't have any difficulty keeping up. I enjoyed the legend, I enjoyed the romance and the small community that banded together to help a stranger, who has distant ties to their island in her past.

I loved this trilogy! A modern day fairy tale that was believable and beautiful. I was so happy that the series is now in paperback so that I can share with others who will love it as well.

Ireland, Irish mythology and a great writer - doesn't get much better than this!
