What really surprised me in this book, was the fact that John, a big bad alpha with more than 200 years of experience behind his back, couldn't take charge.

John also admitted to Matt right away that he was using him, yet later on John couldn't - for the life of him - figure out why Matt didn't rush forward declaring his undying love. Well, go figure...

This one is leaving me a little conflicted. There were spots in the story where I struggled to connect to the characters and the writing. Then it would grab me, and I would be fully immersed.

Maybe some of it had to do with some of the wording that was used, especially in the beginning. I have to admit, that I hate reading "his sex"... Unfortunately this happened a few times in the story. Honestly, call a penis a penis, a dick or a .... Just don't use the above...please!

Once I overcame that issue, i started to enjoy the story. I was half-what expecting a "mated" story with the way it started, so I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't. Overall it was an entertaining read.… (plus d'informations)

This is an amazing book. I loved it because of its many surprises, great characters, and the sense of wonder and quiet analysis that somehow comes through in the writing and fits the main character perfectly. There is the odd humorous observation and interlude as well, which only makes it an even better story.

Matt is a graduate student who has a lot more brains than common sense. I loved seeing the world through his eyes. He analyzes everything, comes up with the cleverest solutions to the weirdest problems, and is desperate to find "the One". He instinctively trusts John Channing, despite all the evidence to the contrary. His brain tells him he needs to be careful, and leads him to quite a few incorrect conclusions where his relationship with Channing is concerned. His heart sends a clear message from the very start, but he has trouble believing it.

The book basically tells the story of Matt finding out that he can trust his instincts and what they tell him not just about the man he has fallen in love with, but his relationship with that man. A very interesting read.

Ok there is no BDSM in this book, just some hot dirty sex. And no abusive relationship like some reviewers stated. No one was abused or raped or manipulated.
Story is simple, we don't get much of character development here; more of Tom than Law. Yes we learn more as we go along but not much. The book isn't long; we don't have enough pages to accommodate both sex and the inner thoughts of Law.

cocky rich MC, grease monkey, bitchy female figure, public sex, and an MC without a smartphone!!
