Olifantenoorlogen par Richard Leakey

Op verzoek van de president van Kenia werd de paleoantropoloog Richard Leaky in 1989 directeur van de Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). Door Leakey's inspanningen kwam er een einde aan de ivoorhandel en kon de olifantenpopulatie zich herstellen.
Olifantenoorlogen is het relaas van zijn gevecht om het behoud van de natuur in Kenia, met name van de Afrikaanse olifant. Het is een kruistocht tegen omkoping, armoede en gevaarlijke criminelen.
