While the story does include her killing quite a few girls, and yes nobles as well, there is a political slant that is obviously there to show the possibility of a conspiracy against her. Also, strangely enough, this book ends with Elizabeth being set free and some other girl being led into the castle, obviously to take the place of Elizabeth's body.
