One of my favorite books of poetry, perfect for middle-school-aged people and adults! These poems are concise & poignant, and covers the span of environmental issues: fur, poaching, conservation, recycling, deforestation, vegetarianism, etc.

I LOVE it and re-read the entire book every year before I use the 6 poems I've selected for the students.

Ed snaps when he is sick of seeing his ex-best friend Lester bullied day in, day out at school. He challenges the school bully Doyle who tells him he has “four days until Friday.”Told in hour blocks over the next 4 days, Ed has to contend with his mates being picked on – pissed on in the toilets, framed for shop lifting, weird late night phone calls , being tripped on the stairs and worse. Can he survive the next 4 days? What will happen and who can Ed really trust? The only good that seems to come out of it is Caitlin who admires the way Ed stood up for Lester.p.31- 32Ryan gets a letter… (plus d'informations)

Seriously scary book about a family that moves into a creepy old house and the 5 yr old says that she has a new friend Sadie. Laura notices some strange things happening but can’t convince anyone in the family to believe her – in fact they blame her for all the strange incidents! Who is Sadie? How did she die and who is Gus that she said she’s wait for? When Sadie starts possessing Sarah, Laura becomes very, very concerned – what if Sadie takes over Sarah completely?
