Courte biographie
Do you really care what university I went to, whether or not I have a fuzzy cat named Snowball (his name is actually Sammy), and how many years I've been writing for?

I will assume you're cooler than that, so the answer of course is no.

What's left then?

Okay I got it:

-I did not shy away from wearing denim-top-to-bottom in high school (there is a direct inverse relationship between how much denim I wore and how few tongues were launched down my throat at school dances...or anywhere in high school at all).

-I'm continually baffled by that Malaysian baby whose father let him smoke two packs of cigarettes a day. That baby had so many fat rolls, and I thought cigarettes were supposed to be slimming.

-I always hated those insufferable couples who would cuddle and make out on the subway...until I became half of one. But now I'm back to being none of one so I hate them again.

This illustrious biography gives a pretty clear idea of what The Book of Awful is like. Let's just say that I couldn't come to grips with how positive and gooey the bestselling "The Book of Awesome" was...and so I wrote a parody.

You can't go wrong with hearing how much worse life could be, in an insane/ridiculous manner for only $2.99. I'll explain it in an easier way: I guarantee The Book of Awful will make you laugh; if it doesn't I will give you my home address, so you can show up at my door and administer a beating.

Hopefully it won't come to the beating option, because I really do think you'll laugh when you read my book. Laughter may seem like a tiny thing, but laughter releases endorphins which are basically like chemical drugs, so my book is like a bag full of drugs for only $2.99.

WHAT A DEAL!

I hope you'll enjoy my book and I'd love to hear your thoughts :-).

Thanks,

Romi Moondi

Very cute prequel to Year of the Chick. You get a back story which gives a little insight to the main character and how she arrives at her current boyfriendless dilemma.

Very funny chick lit book Indian/Canadian style. The author captures so many hilarious moments that anyone who's a landed immigrant's descendant can laugh to and those who are not can laugh along with us. The dilemma of finding a husband is always a great chick lit topic in my book. The heroine captures the heart of any girl hoping to one day meet the right guy. Balancing two cultures can be tricky at times and in this story it shows it with humor, honesty and a lot of heart.

I wanted to love this book. When I first picked it up it I loved the synopsis. The first few chapters were exciting and I felt a connection with the main character, Romi. That is also when I started to cringe every time Romi opened her mouth to complain. A lot of what she complained about were things that were within her control. I did enjoy the twists and the writing was great, I was just completely thrown off by Romi's attitude.

This book is laugh out loud funny. Stroll the streets of Paris with a quirky friend who makes the experience more memorable just by being there. Enjoy the hilarious random rants of your companion while you taste the wine, take in the ambiance, and chase after the elusive almond croissant. Bring your sunglasses, an umbrella, and a pink balloon for your pizza picnic. Tour the museums by day, and watch the Eiffel Tower light up at night. Don't forget to watch out for crazy tourists with expensive SLR cameras. There is so much to do, see, and experience in Vicarious Paris you will need a vacation when you’re done.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, it made me want to pack my bags and head to Paris for the summer. The book has many wonderful moments expressing the sense of awe, appreciation, and wonder the author has of Paris and it's people. The writing is personal, honest, and is a hilarious account of a classic city through the eyes of a modern traveler. This book makes you want to stop living vicariously and go see it for yourself.
