Nice little history of my old neighborhood in St. Louis. Great photographs.
A historical and current look at Lafayette Square, site of some of the most grandly distinctive old homes in St. Louis. If I could have afforded it, I would have been happy to buy a fixer-upper here when I was a young single man looking for a house in the city. This shows images and history from the glory days, the destruction of the 1896 tornado and the subsequent decay of the Square, and the later successful and ongoing restoration efforts. Someday I'll go on a walking tour of the Square with this book in hand, comparing historical photos of homes with their current states.… (plus d'informations)
