This was a really enjoyable book. A hilarious read if you have kids. I could totally identify with most of the situations the author presented (I wasn’t nuts about his insistence that circumcision is a must but I can forgive him that).

“No Wonder My Parents Drank” is full of stories about Mohr, his son, and his wife. The book follows his son from birth to approximately age 8.

I had never listened to Mohr as a comedian before but once I had finished with this book I watched a few of his stand up routines. He is very funny but occasionally a bit raunchy.

Not quite as funny as I expected, but touching and still a good read. I'm not a parent, but really enjoyed Jay's musings on being a dad and observations on his childhood versus that of his son and other kids today. I will be passing this on to friends who recently became parents.

I've been positively disposed toward Jay Mohr since the brilliant-but-cancelled Action, and I like SNL, so I was hoping to like this book. But alas. Mohr turns out to be kind of a schmuck, and the book pretty much lacks any point whatsoever. Well, except that of getting a publisher to pay him for it. In that one respect, well done, Jay.
