A series of posters by a German artist depicting the changes in a country landscape as it becomes more and more built up, with houses, roads, buildings, finally becoming a city (as best as I can remember!) Simon & Schuster Children’s Books. 0-689-50085-8 1977

Personal Response- I stumbled upon this book when searching Amazon and I bought it on a whim. I'm so please I did. The pictures are very detailed and beautiful. They are folded into thirds and folded inside the book. I was amazed with what I notice the first time looking at them but you can notice something new every time you look at it. I love cats so when I noticed him, I searched for him in all 7 photographs. It's a lesson that the white cat isn't found on the last page.

Curricular connections- This book has amazing flexibility in that any age ground can appreciate it and make some sort of connection. It could work with kindergarten to twelve graders. The discussion of environmental issues and importance of land can be talked about.… (plus d'informations)

An interesting book about a bear who hibernates, only to wake up in a completely different world where he is mistaken as a factory worker. This book definitely requires readers to suspend their disbelief - the bear longs to maintain his animalistic traits, yet he easily goes along with his new role as the factory worker.

Loved the format of this book and the illustration's ability to promote discussion. Definitely promotes the skill of comparison and contrast. I think this book could be used to bring up the issue of change and the depreciation of nature/the simple things in life.
