Amanda hates her hair, but everyone else thinks her hair is so beautiful. Amanda feels that people do not like her for Amanda, the like her hair, so one day she decides to just cut off her hair and show everyone who she truly is.

The Coconut Mon is from the Caribbean and is selling his coconuts off one by one and changing his description of each coconut making no two coconuts the same. This is a good book for learning to count and the reader can use an accent with the book making it more interesting and fun to read.

Amanda's long, thick, curly hair seems to get praise from everyone but Amanda. She wants people to notice her for herself, not for her hair, plus it's annoying. After a brief consideration of the result from bold action, Amanda snips her way to a new hairdo. Family and friends recover from the initial shock and are as pleased with the results as Amanda is.

Amanda's hair is thick and long and beautiful, but according to her it is out of control. Her parents, teacher, and friends compliment her hair, but Amanda wants to be freed from it. So, one day she cuts it. Now, she has short curly hair that she loves.
