Some of my favorite bat facts I learned from this book are:
1.There are over 1,300 species of bats.
2.The biggest bat, the Giant Golden-Crowned Flying Fox has a wingspan of more than 5ft (150cm).
3.The Bumblebee Bat is about the size of a large bumblebee and weighs no more than 1/10th oz. (2g).
4.Bats can’t launch off into flight like birds do, so instead they climb to a high point, hang upside down, and fall into flight.
5. Bats are important in so many ways: they pollinate more than 500 types of plants, disperse seeds (which also helps with reforestation), eat insects that could damage our crops, and in doing these things help to balance out ecosystems and provide important food and shelter sources for other animals, including us!
I would highly recommend this book for any bat lovers, people who want to know more about bats, or people who aren’t aware of all the important things bats do. There’s even great action points on things we can do to help give bats shelter, food, and safe environments where they can flourish.… (plus d'informations)
