Brian is a former pro-football player. Now he has a foundation to help inner-city teens. Brian is also quickly losing his eyesight. Angela is a dog trainer and she works at Guardian Paws where Brian comes looking to find and train with a seeing eye dog, which he will inevitably need. Angela and Brian hit it off, but since both have drug related issues in their pasts (Brian abused steroids during his football days, and Angela spent two years in prison on drug related charges), they now have a ruthless reporter on their trail hoping to cash-in with a juicy story exposing their pasts.

This was such an entertaining story that really held my interest throughout. All of the characters were very well written. Brian and Angela were extremely sympathetic and their struggles came across as so real. I loved the dog that Angela chose for Brian’s guide dog—a poodle named Jasper. At first, Brian didn’t think Jasper would work for him, but they ended up being a perfect fit. I didn’t think this book really belonged in the suspense category, but nonetheless, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.

This was a story about animal trainer Angela London, who has the ability to pick out dogs and train them to be guide dogs for people who need them. That in itself made the story interesting to me. But then add ex-football player Brian Ramsey to the picture, who needs a dog as he is going blind, and now you have an interesting romance blossoming. Throw in a news reporter who wants to find dirt on Brian, and a previous boyfriend of Angela's who is wanting her to get back into the drug scene and the suspense mounts.

I liked how Brian handled his going blind situation. He realized his past mistakes got him into the situation and he just wanted to make the best of things. I liked Angela and how she turned her life around after coming to know the Lord. She tried to stay positive in life even though situations were going from bad to worse. It was an enjoyable story to read.
