I haven't read the rest of the series, so you'd probably get more enjoyment if you have. This was alright though. It's a short novella about a WITSEC member that's been compromised. When she worries that WITSEC can't protect her anymore, she calls her long lost love to protect her. Skye was alright. She was strong and brave and resourceful for the most part. Drake was protective if a bit stupid at times. Didn't really make sense why he didn't tell her to hurry up - he was worried about her safety and time was of the essence regardless of her breakdown. Both characters were fine but a novella doesn't really give much time for character development. Plus the characters were apparently in a previous novel and a lot of their development and history is off page. It was alright though and I'm sure fans of the series will like seeing more of Skye and Drake. I doubt I'll read the rest of the series - none of the books really grab me. 2 stars.… (plus d'informations)

Nice romantic suspense. Well written and one of my favorites of the series. I particularly enjoyed the emotional progression of the hero. I thought that the way that his falling in love led him to hit the wall as a sniper was very realistic. It was different to see an abused woman who instead of being physically abused was mentally abused. It did make it so that she didn't have as much to overcome to get physical with the hero so was easier to swallow. The villain was just a tab bit lame at the end, IMO. This was a reread for me.… (plus d'informations)

I really liked most of this book. I liked the hero who couldn't remember his family. His struggles to become a better father and husband the second time around were well done. His struggles with PTSD were also well done and interesting. I liked the dynamic between him and his step daughter. He was coming back blind into a situation that wasnt' ideal the first time around. The book succeeded for me pretty much all around until the end. Then it was just chock full of improbably military stuff. Too bad that was the last thing you read and it kind of left a 'yeah right' sour taste in my mouth.

Still I've gone on to read the rest of the series and have basically enjoyed all of them. Too bad the series is no longer continuing.

A good story, but a little bit slow. The main conflict between the leads in the story due to both being undercover for different reasons. The female lead is an investigative reporter who is looking for evidence to put the man who murdered her sister back in jail for good. The male lead is trying to discover whether or not a halfway house is being used as a recruitment camp for terrorists.
