Carl Medearis, an international expert in the field of Arab-American and Muslim-Christian relations, provides background info on Islam and tools for sharing Christ with their Muslim neighbors.

Muslims, Christians and Jesus, is the recipient of the prestigious Outreach Magazine Resources of the Year for 2012.

According to Medearis, how Americans respond to Islam and how Christians think of Muslims could be one of the most significant issues of our time. Throughout the study, Medearis helps you understand the basics of Islam, the difference between “moderate” Muslims and radical terrorists, the Muslim view of Jesus, and how we should interact with our Muslim neighbors, friends, and coworkers.… (plus d'informations)

The thought that Jesus’ interactions were so short and intentional is fascinating. The average length of his talking with someone in scripture is 42 seconds. He didn’t give a bunch of long theological speeches to convince people to come to his kingdom. He simply saw into what was going on with people and spoke to their needs.

Carl did a great job writing a simple guide on how to have simple conversations that draw people to Christ. He encourages us to be normal. That something a lot of us over eager evangelists have trouble doing. We are so focused on our agenda that we miss the people we are talking to. This book is an invitation to take notice.

{As a side note that has nothing to do with the book, I immediately thought of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy when I saw this. The super smart computer told them the answer to everything was 42. Maybe they were on to something.} :)

Really liked this book and am excited by Carl Medearis's Non-Evangelism approach to...um...evangelism. The basic premise of this book is, talk about Jesus--what he said and did and is doing, and don't get stuck defending Christianity. Along the way he says some provocative and insightful things about how we can give up our scare tactics, our us-versus-them mentalities, and our

I find that I am in general agreement with this approach, and it rings true from my experience. However I wonder if in places he carries the 'non-religious' just Christian thing to far. I feel like my ecclesiology (a Christianese word) is too high to totally buy into his message, but I think that his main thrust about the nature of our proclamation is essentially correct.… (plus d'informations)

I received this book from Bethany House Publishers/Baker Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review.
Well, I am certainly glad I chose this book to review. Another awesome read from Bethany House.
I started reading it and couldn't put it down. It's not your typical missionary autobiographical story. First, God gave Carl Medearis a wonderful sense of humor. He could also have a career as a stand up comedian, I really mean that. He writes his stories with a conversational tone and humor. This book is a well written, easy to read account of the Medearis family as they traveled and lived among the Muslim and Arab people, how God opened up doors, unbelievable doors so they could minister to them, and share God's love. I enjoyed reading it so much, I didn't realize I was being taught and strengthened in my faith to say "Yes" to God, even when I'm afraid. I believe you will also be inspired in your faith too. I highly recommend this book. I'll sum it up in texting language. " Lol"… (plus d'informations)
