The world's special forces are renowned for their superb fighting skills. Using the latest weaponry and equipment, they train to dominate and destroy the enemy with all the firepower they have available. Yet weapons can be lost, damaged, or run out of ammunition. It is at these times that special forces soldiers rely on their formidable skills in unarmed combat.

Military unarmed combat takes the world's most-lethal marial arts techniques and combines them into one fighting package. They require devastating punches, kicks, and chokeholds for attacking, and nimble footwork and strong blocks for defense. From methods of power-punching to defending against a knife attack, Martial Arts for Special Forces discusses what makes military unarmed combat different form other martial arts. The book gives step-by-step accounts of the fighting techniques taught to the elite, and looks at the combat systems of some of the world's most famous units.

Fighting Techinques of the Orienal World describes the gighting teachnique of the armies of East Asia, from the age of the Mongol expansion in the thirteenth century to the Anglo-Chinese Opium Wars of the mid-nineteenth century, The book expplores the tactics and strategy required to win battles with the technology available, and illustrates how the development of such weapons changed the way battles were fought.

In an era of fortifications, the fourth chapter examines the employment and development of siege weapons, from the 'Crouching Tiger' catapult to advanced mortars, at sieges such as Xiangyang (1267), Chinju (1592), and Osaka (1615). the final chapter analyzes the development of naval warfare, examining key encounters at Lake Poyang (1363), Sacheon (1592), and Wusung River (1842).
