A somewhat jingoistic telling of a famous story from the Battle of the Atlantic, published while the war was ongoing and not looking at all good for Britain. Marred by an irritating attempt to compare 20th century naval tactics of the British and German admirals involved with those in use in conflicts of the 18th century. What this book does have, though it is not totally accurate, is a list of names of officers and men who died when HMS Hood blew up.
