What will happen if someone approaches a problem in an unexpected way? What turns problem-solving into creative discovery?

This book, based around a story in which sixth-graders making and flying paper airplanes, relates how one student considered the problem and reached an unexpected, creative solution as he considered the problem from a different perspective. Suggesting that people who don’t follow conventional paths are likely to discover innovative ideas and solutions, it advocates the fostering of imagination and creativity.

Proponents of alternative thinking [better known as thinking outside the box] recognize that stepping away from conventional thought is often a risk, but the potential for a new kind of breakthrough may be the result.

A DVD is included with this book.

Recommended.

Growing up Michael and his neighborhood kids loved to play baseball!

But sadly their parents banned backyard baseball because of the multiple broken windows.

So they had a problem...what's the solution?

They could "play at the park...no...it's too far."

"What about wiffle ball?...wiffle ball is stupid!"

What were the guys going to do?

Read to find out how a "pink bat" becomes the solution :)

After telling his story Michael goes on to give real perceived problems and the "pink bat solutions" that followed.

It's all in what you focus on...

Let the story of the pink bat help you find your solution~
