I really liked this book because of the illustrations and the message it gives. In the book, Poodlena is a pink poodle who lives in the penthouse of a very fancy building. She spends hours a day getting groomed to perfection and then goes to the dog park. She doesn't play, however, because she doesn't want to get dirty, she just walks and watches the other dogs from a distance. A storm comes through her city for days and when she is able to return to the dog park there is mud everywhere! Poodlena even gets three fleas! While she it stops to scratch her fleas, she is knocked over into the mud by another dog. Poodlena winds up loving the mud. Going forward she spends less time primping for the day and more time rolling around and playing with the other dogs in the park. The main idea of this book is to make sure you look presentable, but make sure you have enough time to do what you like with the people you love. I love the illustrations in this book. They look like they are painted. One part of the book discusses how Poodlena watches the dogs from a distance and in the illustration you can clearly see all of the other dogs having a blast playing and Poodlena is on the sidewalk content, but not quite as happy as the other dogs. I think the plot was paced very well. There wasn't a part where I felt the author was dragging the story on. I also didn't think the author spent too little time on any one part of the book. I think it was paced very well for the K-2nd grade age group because I don't see a child in those grades losing their attention while reading this book.… (plus d'informations)

This is the story of a pink poodle names Poodlena. She spends a lot of time getting pretty everyday just to go to the park and walk around. She doesn't want to play because she'll get dirty. One day it rains really hard and the next day the park is muddy. As she is walking another dog runs into her knocking her into the mud. Poodlena learns that it's not that bad to get dirty and play. She begins to have more fun and doesn't spend as much time on being pretty.
This is a good book to use to teach students to have more fun and not to worry so much… (plus d'informations)
